ABOUT US

Skye Anderson

Skye Anderson is a recent graduate of the journalism program at Mount Royal University. She has been writing and telling both fiction and non-fiction stories ever since she could pick up a pen.

 

Skye has been published in the Calgary Journal, Beatroute, J-Source: The Canadian Journalism Project, and U.K. magazine Fireworks.

 

Initially diving into music journalism, she had the opportunity to host Alberta’s Own Music Festival in 2013. Although music is still a significant part of her life, Skye’s true passion is producing stories that revolve around social issues such as addiction, mental illness, and government policy. She hopes to generate conversation about these topics, and bring positive change to the world.

 

Skye was a consistent member of the President’s Honour Roll in her post-secondary education and recently was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society.

 

Her interests include snowboarding, longboarding, dancing, music, and bringing positivity, happiness and love to people’s lives.

is a journalism student based in Calgary, Alberta. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Communication at Mount Royal University. Her work has been featured on CTV2, in the Calgary Journal, and on calgaryfashion.ca.

 

In her time as a journalism student, Megan has covered topics ranging from cosplay conventions to therapeutic horse riding programs to electronic music culture. She is a member of the President's Honour Roll and was the recipient of the ConocoPhillips Canada Communication scholarship in Fall 2014, along with other scholarships for academic achievement.

In her spare time, Megan is an active volunteer. For two years, she was an International Student Ambassador for incoming exchange students at Mount Royal University, and she also volunteers answering calls at the Distress Centre for CCASA (Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse). She has volunteered in the past with Market Collective, Calgary Public Library, and Opening Gaits Therapeutic Riding Program. 

 

Her personal interests include cooking, her pug Ollie, and spending all of her money on concert/airplane tickets.
